Blog: Midsummer Night's Dream
The story "Midsummer Night's Dream" was written by Shakespeare. This
includes the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six
amateur actors, who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit
the forest in which most of the play is set. The play, which is categorized as
a comedy, is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is
widely performed across the world.
We are asked to distinguish the climax of this story. Well climax is the most important and intense part of the story. It is where the story gets thrilling. For me the climax of "A midsummer night's dream" is the part where Puck put the Love potion on the wrong person which is Lysander instead of Demetrius. It is said that if the Potion was put on the eyelid of the person, he or she would fall in love with the first person he or she would see. As Lysander woke up, he saw Helena who is tailing Demetrius. So Lysander fell in love with her. Oberon the king of fairies knew about it. So he also put a potion on Demetrius' eyelid, then Demtrius saw Helena and fell in love with her. Helena knows that Lysander is not interested in her, so she thinks that they are both mocking her. Then Hermia woke up and saw Lysander and Demetrius were fighting over for Helena. She got confused so she went to Helena. Helena thought that Hermia was also mocking her so she had a fight with Hermia. On the other hand, Titania fell in love with Bottom because of the potion. In the end Oberon fixed all of the wrong things that have happened.
