Blog 3.3: Texting

Blog 3.3: Texting

Texting is a way of communication. Using cellular phones, you can easily send a message to a loved one across the globe. But texting has a bad effect on some teenagers, specially in the Philippines.

Take this picture for example.

A simple "Hello po. Dito na po ako." will take about ten unnecessary characters. This way of texting is called "Jejemon." A famous way of texting in the Philippines.

This also indicates laziness. Instead of typing the correct spelling and grammar, you'll type shortcuts like:

BRB -> be right back
OTW -> on the way
ILY -> I love you.
IMY -> I miss you.
ROFL -> roll on the floor laughing
LOL -> laugh out loud

and Tagalog words like:

namin -> nmn
afternoon -> afty
ako -> aq

Why do you have to tyF lyK dEs if you could just type like this?!

Jejemon texts don't look cool, jejemon texts are merely wreckers of spelling and grammar.
