Blog 3.1:
Love for Teenagers
Love.
A
four-letter word that makes our worlds revolve.
Have I ever
been in love? Hmm. I don’t think so. Infatuation
or crush, maybe. But love? No
way.
Having a
crush is a normal part of being a teenager. That nervous feeling you feel when
you see her/him smiling at you.
There are
many factors that affect you and make you have a crush on someone.
First, physical features. That weakening smile or mesmerizing
eyes. Sharp nose or tallness. Cute dimples or toothy grin. They caught you
off-guard. And they make you interested in one person. But let me tell you,
love is blind. Yes, maybe someone’s handsome/pretty face makes you head over
heels for that someone, but if that heart of yours beat and tell you that you
love him/her already, whether he/she looks exactly opposite of your type you
can’t help but accept his/her flaws and love his/her imperfectness. Like what
One Direction said in their song, “I love you and all your little things...”
Second, friends. Yes, friends. Maybe your friends
tease you to this hottie that just transferred to your school. But my friend,
remember love is not a choice. It’s a mere fact waiting to happen.
Lastly, that person himself/herself. If you really like his/her attitude
then BOOM! You may fall for him/her.
LOVE.
What is
love?
Webster
said, “Love is a strong feeling of affection; fondness; tender affection for
one of opposite sex; person loved; to feel or show love for; to delight in; to
caress.”
Encarta
said, “Love is to feel tender affection for somebody such as a close relative
or friend, or for something such as a place and ideal, or an animal."
I say, love
can not be defined. It can be described but not defined. I describe love as that certain feeling you feel
towards same or opposite sex. When you see that person, your heart flutters.
When you see him/her smile, your heart skips a beat. When you see him/her
loving another person, your heat breaks and shatters.
My ideal man
would look like someone from One Direction. Nah, just kidding. I think he would
be tall and cute. I like a boy with brown or green eyes. Someone who has
dimples and soft hair. Someone who has a dashing smile. Maybe someone who can
play instruments and love music like me. A manly voice that can sing.
My ideal man
is someone who can make me smile and laugh. Someone that I could lean on.
Someone that would just hug me and my day would be okay. Someone that can make
me stop cry. Someone that can make me cry. Someone that can make me happy and
sad at the same time.
But then
again, love can be unpredictable.
“She who has never
loved has never lived.” – John Gay, The Captives
“The trick is to love somebody...If you
love one person, you see everybody else differently.”- Attributed to James
Baldwin
“It is impossible to
love and be wise.”- Francis Bacon
“HELENA: Love looks not with the eyes,
but with the mind;
And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind.”- William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 1 Scene 1
And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind.”- William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 1 Scene 1

I
think that watching the sunrise is the best thing you could do with
your partner. Because watching the sunrise is a symbol of having another
day, another hope and another challenge given to us by God.
"I'm in love with you and all your little things..."
